Found in a beautiful country setting in the Vale of
Sussex, nestling in Ancient Woodland, The Old Sawmill has been lovingly
converted from an old barn into two luxury self contained cottages,
"The Pulley Room" & "The Joinery" which are set in the owners
grounds and are approached via their own gravel drive with ample
parking.
The Old Sawmill self-catered cottages are ideally situated in a rural
yet central location from which you can explore local walks direct from
the property, stroll, yomp or cycle along The South Downs, or Ashdown
Forest where the deer roam freely, and enjoy visits to The National
Trust parks such as Sheffield Park (near The Bluebell Railway) &
Wakehurst Place.
The historic county town of Lewes is 10 minutes away, the bustling and
eclectic City of of Brighton is 25 minutes, Gatwick 30 minutes and all
the sights and sounds of London are only an hour away by train.
Short breaks are available for weekend and midweek get-aways, or you
may choose to stay for the week, fortnight or even longer subject to
availability.
The Pulley Room is situated on the ground floor and has double oak
French doors leading out onto a lovely woodland patio with garden
furniture & BBQ. Suitable for wheelchair access.
The Joinery is on the first floor. It has a spacious bright loft
atmosphere, a lovely open galleried landing, and views across the open
countryside. It also has its own private trellissed outside seating
area & BBQ.
There is an internal interconnecting door which allows the enjoyment of
both cottages as a single property for larger groups, families and
friends, and for those special occasions when the ability to accomodate
up to 12 people is a real boon.
The cottages are are newly renovated & furnished to a very high
standard and can sleep 4-6 people in luxury and comfort. Each has two
bedrooms, one double with ensuite shower room, one twin bedroom which
has zip and link beds and can convert to a King size double, main
bathroom, lounge area (with high quality sofabed), dining area and
fitted kitchen. The main living area has bevelled edge oak wood floors
and the bedrooms are carpeted. Both are fully equipped with a washing
machine/dryer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, oven, ceramic
hob, kettle, toaster, cutlery, kitchen utensils & cookware. Also we
have provided for your convenience an iron, ironing board, TV/DVD &
mini Hifi system and hairdryer in the bedroom. A high chair and travel
cot are available on request.
